Dr Jonathan Phan (MBBS UNSW, FRACGP)
Background – Dr Phan graduated from the University of NSW and has been in general practice since 2007. He enjoys general practice as it gives him the opportunity to interact with patients of all ages and cultural backgrounds.
Special Interests – He enjoys preventative health, looking after children and pregnant women.
Personal Interests – Outside of medicine he likes to spend time cooking and traveling.
Dr Ryan Quan Vo (MBBS UNSW, FRACGP)
Background – Dr Vo is a Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and a graduate of the University of NSW.
Special Interests – He has an interest in all aspects of General Practice.
Personal Interests – Outside of the practice, he enjoys the occasional game of golf, learning to sail and travelling.
Dr Kathy Roncevic – Family Doctor MBBS FRACGP Dip RACOG
Background – Dr Roncevic is a graduate of the University of NSW and has been working in the Inner West region for the last 18 years.
Special Interests – She works in Shared Antenatal care with Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and enjoys all aspects of general family medicine.
Personal Interests – She loves to spend time with her family outside of work.
Dr Kelly Nguyen – MBBS FRACGP Dip Paeds
Background – Dr Kelly Nguyen is a Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and graduated from Sydney University in 1999. She spent the first 5 post graduate years training at Westmead Hospital, obtaining experience in Internal Medicine before entering General Practice in 2004. She has lived in Australia most of her life and in the Inner West for almost 10 years.
Special Interests – She has a Diploma in Paediatrics and particularly enjoys looking after young children and their families. She is also certified for Antenatal Shared Care with RPA and Canterbury Hospitals.
Personal Interests – Outside of medicine, she immensely enjoys looking after her 3 small children and would like to resume travelling when they are older.
Dr Sarah Kemp – B Arts MBBS DipCH FRACGP
Currently working at a Travel Medicine Clinic in Nepal and will be retuning in 2019
Background – DDr Sarah Kemp is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She graduated from Sydney Univeristy in 2008. Her four years following graduation included a specialist year in Obstetrics/Gynaecology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in 2010. She completed her Diploma of Child Health in 2012.
Special Interests -Antenatal shared care (accredited with RPAH, Canterbury, and RNSH), paediatrics and mental health.
Personal Interests -Sarah has two small children and they do lots of travelling and camping in their spare time.
Dr Ying Wu – MBBS
Background – Dr Wu graduated from University of Melbourne in 2009. Before joining us, She worked at Royale Eastwood Medical Centre, Campbelltown Mall Medical Centre, Macarthur Square Medical and Dental Centre, and worked as a Plastic and Reconstructive, Maxillofacial Surgical Registrar. She is also certified for Antenatal Shared Care with RPA & is a certified Acupuncturist.
Personal Interests – Her interests include travelling and yoga.
Dr Sarunnyah Prabahan – MBBS DipCH
Background – Dr Prabahan graduated from Bond University. Before joining us, she worked at Bankstown/Campbelltown Hospital, Concord/Broken Hill Hospital & Ryde Hospital.
Special Interests – Working with children, families, preventative health, general practice as a whole.
Personal Interests – Travelling.
Dr Sacha Ruberu – MBBS
Background – Dr Ruberu graduated from University of Tasmania in 2002. She worked in the United Kingdom in several tertiary hospitals as well as in the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney before commencing her specialist training as a General Practitioner. She qualified as a Fellow of the the Royal College if General Practitioners in 2009. She has worked in several general practices around Sydney.
Special Interests – Her special interests include women’s, child health, mental & preventative health.
Personal Interests -She enjoys travelling, exercising and spending time with her kids.
Dr Arti Arora (MBBS, B AppSc.Phty, DCH, FRACGP)
Background Dr Arora is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She is a graduate of the University of Sydney, where she also completed an undergraduate Physiotherapy degree. She completed her hospital training at the Royal North Shore Hospital and Ryde Hospital. Prior to joining us, she has worked in General Practices in Burwood, Hornsby, Brooklyn and Bankstown.
Special Interests She loves all of general practice, and enjoys seeing woman, children and men from all walks of life. Dr Arora is also a provider of Antenatal Shared Care with RPA.
Personal Interests Loves spending time with her family, cooking and astronomy.

Dr Deepti Vanza (MMBS)
Background Dr Vanza graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in The United States. She moved to Australia in 2007 and completed her hospital training at Bendigo Base Hospital in Victoria, St George and St Vincent’s Hospitals in Sydney. She has completed her Masters in Public Health from UNSW as well as her Diploma in Child Health. She has worked at several practices around Sydney and enjoys all aspects of general practice.

Dr Parvani Pinnewala – Registered Psychologist(Aus) Clinical Psychologist (SL) BScPsych.Hons(UK),PhD(Aus.),CPsychol(UK),MAPS(Aus.)
Parvani is a Clinical Psychologist with British education and training. She has Chartered Psychologist status in the UK with Divisional membership in Clinical Psychology. She is also a registered clinical psychologist in Sri Lanka. Her PhD in Psychology (Macquarie University) examined women’s trauma, resilience and recovery processes. She has over 17 years of clinical experience treating mainly adults, adolescents and the elderly.
Parvani received the Elaine Dignan Award from the Australian Psychological Society in 2005 for significant contributions to women and psychology, in recognition of her clinical, teaching, training and advocacy work. Parvani works with a range of problems including depression, stress, adjustment issues, anxiety (social anxiety, phobias, generalized anxiety, panic attacks, obsessive and compulsive behaviours and separation anxiety), bereavement and grief, women’s issues, self-esteem, issues in confidence and personal development, trauma and recovery, anger management, relational issues (including difficulties in interpersonal, couple or family issues), emotion regulation issues, sexuality and gender identity, acculturation, serious mental illness (including bipolar and psychosis), personality disorders, pain management and addictions. She is able to provide short-term interventions and longer-term therapy based on the client’s problems and complexity of issues. Parvani incorporates person-centred, cognitive behavioural, psychodynamic, solution-focused and other evidenced based approaches to help clients resolve their issues effectively, recover and bring about beneficial changes.

Karina Feldmann – Registered Psychologist BPsych Assoc MAPS
Karina completed her Bachelor of Psychology in 1997. She is also undertaking her Masters in Family Studies with a specialisation in Family Intensive Practice at the University of Newcastle. She has more than 10 years experience in hospitals, schools and organisations overseas. In addition, she has been working in private practice since 2008 treating adults, adolescents and children who suffer from anxiety (generalized anxiety, social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic attacks, specific phobias, and separation anxiety), depression, adjustment issues, Post-Traumatic Stress, self-esteem, relationship difficulties, bereavement and grief, anger management, work and study related stress, challenging behaviour, inattention and emotional regulation issues.
Karina has also a special interest in working with children diagnosed with Austin Spectrum Disorder. She is passionate about working with children and their parents by building on strengths and resilience. She is able to provide short term interventions and long term therapy based on the client’s needs and complexity of presentation. She uses a range of therapeutic approaches including (but not limited to) Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Child Centre Play Therapy.
Michelle Nearchou – Dietitian APD Michelle is an Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) and Accredited Nutionist having completed a Masters of Nutrition and Dietetics and a Bachelor of Science. She is also a member of the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA).
Michelle interest include nutrition management for high cholesterol, hypertension, weight loss and maintenance, insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes.
In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, experimenting with new recipes, being active and playing the piano.
Podiatrist – B.App.Sc (Pod) Our podiatrist has over 11 years experience in public hospitals and private practice.She enjoys all aspects of podiatry with special interest in diabetes, wound management and lower limb bio-mechanics.Outside of podiatry she enjoys travelling.
Andrew Roy – Physiotherapist Andrew has graduated with a Masters in Physiotherapy from the University of Sydney in 2012, with previous degrees in Psychology (UNSW) and Kinesiology (SFU, Canada). Andrew has varied experience in the world of Physiotherapy and injury management, he has worked in Private Practice’s in both Australia and Canada as well as Nursing Homes, Occupational Health and in various sporting teams. Having completed numerous course such as Dry Needling, Shoulder and Hip pain, Facial Mobility, Andrew utilizes a wide variety of techniques to suit each patient’s needs. Andrew approaches patients in a holistic manner, looking at the whole biomechnical chain to determine the casual factors if an injury not just treating the area of “pain”.His special interests include shoulders, knees and acute or chronic spinal pain.
Patrick Kubel – Physiotherapist Patrick graduated with a Masters in Physiotherapy from the University of Sydney in 2012, with previous degrees in Exercise & Sport Science (UWS) and Clinical Rehabilitation (USYD). Patrick has over 10 years’ experience in rehabilitation and injury management. He has worked as a qualified Personal Trainer in a gym based setting as well as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist in the Occupational Health Industry. He has worked with elite level athletes including the NSW Men and Women’s Volleyball teams. Having attended numerous seminars and conferences around the world, Patrick is up to date with the latest research and best practice to ensure your health related goals are achieved in the most effective manner.
Combining ideologies from both Eastern and Western philosophy, Patrick provides a patient-centered approach to healthcare that empowers his patients to make effective decisions to achieve an optimal recovery. He advocates an active approach to rehabilitation and facilitates natural healing processes of the human body. Key areas include Postural Pain, Sporting Injuries, Chronic (Persistent) Pain, Occupational Injuries and Musculo-Skeletal Pain. In his spare time, Patrick enjoys reading philosophy, keeping fit and composing music.
Our Practice Staff
Kate Van Der Wel – Practice Nurse Nurse Kate has been nursing for 12 years since graduating from Victoria University in 2001. She has a background in ICU and has been in General Practice nursing for the last four years. Kate has an interest in preventative health, particularly diabetic care. Her free time is taken up looking after three small children.
Megan Kimber – Practice Nurse
Megan has been a registered nurse for the past 5 years with training from the United States. Megan has worked in the acute setting of Renal Med Surgery and Telemetry. Her previous General Practice background was at an OB-GYN clinic. Megan is interested in preventative health as well as women’s health. In her spare time she enjoys kayaking with her husband.
Narissa – Practice Manager Narissa has worked with the company for 3 years, and as practice manager for the past year. She has over 10 years experience in administration. Outside of the office she loves spending time with her dog Coco and going to the gym.
Liz – Receptionist
Liz is one of our full time receptionists at Birkenhead. She comes from a back ground of retail with a passion to deliver great customer service to all of our patients.
When Liz is not at work she likes to unwind by going to the beach, shopping, playing touch football and having a boogey.
